What is CatchKeeper?
CatchKeeper is your fishing companion for logging catches, tracking the spots and gear that work, and sharing your stories with a community of fishers. Whether you fish fresh, salt or brackish water, with line and reel, fly, spear or bow — CatchKeeper keeps your log and helps you find your people.
How do I get CatchKeeper?
CatchKeeper is a mobile app for iPhone and Android. Head to the download section for the current links — there's nothing to set up beyond creating your account.
Get the appHow do I log my first catch?
Tap the "+" button in the bottom navigation to start a new post, then choose to add catch details. You can record the species, measurements, gear, location and conditions, add photos, and share it to your timeline or keep it private.
Is CatchKeeper free to use?
Yes — Finding spots, activity forecasts, logging catches and connecting with the community are free. Some advanced features may be part of a premium tier as the app grows.
Account & Privacy
Can I keep my account or catches private?
Yes. You can make your account private so only approved followers see your posts, and each individual catch can be shared publicly, with followers, or kept private to you.
Can other people see the catch details for my Post?
No. All details on your catch tab such as time and location are private to you alone.
Are my fishing spots kept secret?
Your private spots are always private unless you choose to share it with a buddy. Manage your saved spots any time in settings.
Do you sell my catch or location data?
No, and we never will. Your catch details and your fishing spots are not for sale — not to brands, not to data brokers, not to anyone. There is no subscription that buys access to another fisher's catches or spots either, and there never will be. Our Privacy Policy sets out exactly how your information is handled.

You can delete your account from Settings. This soft-deletes your profile and starts cleanup of your data. If you need help, contact our support team.

What do I do if I can't find my species or equipment?
We will be more than happy to assist with getting the right combination of catch and equipment in place. Reach out to our support team directly by email.
Raise a Missing reportCan I edit or delete a catch after posting?
Yes. Open the post and use the options menu to edit its details or delete it. Deleting a post will also delete any related catch record, so your log and stats stay accurate.
How do I record the species?
You choose it as you log the catch. CatchKeeper narrows the list to species that actually turn up where you're fishing, and you can search by whatever you call it locally. You can change it later if you need to.
